FAQ

Before you dig in, the short answers.

How do I start a subscription business on Shopify?

Three steps: pick the products that make sense on a repeat schedule (consumables, refills, curated boxes), install a subscription app to handle the recurring billing Shopify doesn't do natively, and put a Subscribe & Save option on your product pages with a discount worth committing to. With Daima that's about 15 minutes: install from the App Store, create a subscription plan, and the widget appears on your product pages. One step stays manual — you add the My Subscriptions page to your Shopify customer accounts yourself, so subscribers can manage their own plans. The Getting Started guide below walks through every step.

How do customers cancel or pause their subscriptions?

Themselves, once you have switched the portal on. Daima ships a My Subscriptions page for Shopify's customer accounts — a page you add once from your Shopify admin, not something that appears on its own. After that, subscribers can skip a delivery, pause, resume, swap products, change their billing date, or cancel without emailing you. Skip and pause are offered before cancel on purpose — most "cancellations" are really "too much product this month," and giving customers that option is one of the simplest churn reducers there is.

Can I migrate from Recharge, Loop, or another subscription app?

Yes, and you do it yourself: reshape your export to Daima's column names, import it, review, then activate. Billing dates and cadences carry over and nobody is back-billed. Plans are rebuilt in Daima rather than carried across, and any ongoing discount has to be baked into the imported price. The migration guides cover the cutover order that stops anyone being charged twice, and which subscribers do have to re-subscribe.
