Billing, invoices & cancelling.

Where Daima's own billing happens, how invoices work, when you can refund, and exactly what happens to your data when you cancel. All flowing through Shopify Managed Pricing — no separate Daima billing portal.

How Daima bills you

Daima uses Shopify Managed Pricing for its own billing. Whatever payment method your Shopify account has on file is what gets charged for your Daima plan — there's no separate Daima billing portal, no second card to manage, no third-party invoice processor.

Two things you might pay for, depending on plan:

  • Free plan — $0 base fee, plus a 2.5% commission on each subscription order, capped at $50/month. The commission is calculated and charged through Shopify's app commission flow.
  • Pro plan — flat $9.99/month (or $99.99/year) recurring app charge. Zero commission on subscription orders.

Where to find your invoices

Daima doesn't issue separate invoices. All charges roll up into your Shopify account billing:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Billing
  2. Open View bills to see your historical invoices
  3. Daima charges appear as line items on those bills, labeled "Daima Subscription App"

Each line item is downloadable as a PDF for your accounting. If your accountant needs a separate Daima-only invoice, contact [email protected] and we'll generate one.

Upgrading from Free to Pro

From the Daima admin, click Billing in the left nav. The page shows both plans side-by-side with your current plan flagged.

Click Upgrade to Pro. Shopify's Managed Pricing flow takes over — you'll be redirected to Shopify's billing approval page where you confirm the recurring charge. Once approved, the upgrade takes effect immediately.

If this is your first time on Pro, you'll automatically start a 7-day free trial. No charge until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial without being billed.

Downgrading from Pro to Free

Open Billing in the Daima admin and click Downgrade to Free. Unlike upgrades, downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period — you stay on Pro through the cycle you've already paid for, then the plan flips to Free at renewal.

See Free vs Pro — what happens to your data for the full rundown. Short version: nothing is deleted; Pro features pause and resume on re-upgrade.

The 14-day refund window

If you're unsatisfied within 14 days of your first paid Pro charge, email [email protected] with your store URL and we'll issue a full refund — no questions required, no retention pitch.

After 14 days, future months of Pro are non-refundable, but you can cancel anytime to stop further charges. You'll keep Pro access through the end of the billing period you've already paid for.

Cancelling Pro

Two equivalent ways to cancel:

  • From the Daima Billing page — click "Cancel Pro" or "Downgrade to Free" (functionally the same — both stop future Pro charges)
  • From Shopify admin → Apps → Daima → Manage subscription — Shopify's app subscription management page also lets you cancel

Both routes stop the recurring Pro charge. Daima stays installed on your store and you remain on the Free plan.

Uninstalling Daima entirely

If you want to remove Daima from your store completely (not just downgrade to Free):

  1. From Shopify admin, go to Apps → Daima Subscription App → Uninstall
  2. Shopify confirms; the app is removed from your store

What happens to your data:

  • Your subscription contracts stay live in Shopify. They're stored in Shopify's native Subscription Contracts API, not in Daima — uninstalling Daima doesn't cancel your subscribers. They keep getting charged on the same schedule.
  • Daima's stored data (widget settings, plan configuration metadata, analytics history, churn scores, A/B test data) is preserved for 30 days in case you reinstall. After 30 days, it's permanently deleted per our privacy policy.
  • Your Selling Plan Groups in Shopify stay live by default. If you want to remove them too (so the subscription option disappears from your product pages), delete them from Shopify admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels → Selling plan groups before uninstalling.

If you're switching to another subscription app: install the new app while Daima is still running, migrate your data over, then uninstall Daima. Subscription Contracts in Shopify stay associated with the most recently installed subscription app — both apps can coexist briefly during the transition.

If your payment method fails

If Shopify can't charge your account for the Pro plan (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.), Shopify retries the charge per their standard billing-retry policy. After repeated failures, Shopify will downgrade you to Daima's Free plan automatically and email you about the failed charge.

Update your payment method via Shopify admin → Settings → Billing, then re-upgrade to Pro from the Daima Billing page. Your data was preserved during the lapse.
